Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but what was up with Brando's eyes? Was he supposed to look like that?

I've asked myself the same question - I dig the look though - and the most obvious answer is, he was a boxer. But then again, that's how a boxer normally looks like when he's fighting in the ring and taking hits.

It may have been meant to make his eyes look damaged from boxing, but to me it just looks like what it probably was-- black eyeliner. Unfortunate. Well, as computer technology advances I'm sure someone will manage to digitally erase it or reduce it so it's not so distracting.
