Soundtrack question

Great soundtrack for this movie! I've had this stuck in my head for days:

This is played during the scene of Japanese Navy ships heading out to sea
to intercept the monster. Is this a standard bit of incidental music used
to denote a "military" scene (the way that pieces of "Anchors Aweigh" or
other naval/military standards are used in American films)? Or was this piece
written specifically for the film?

I'm not crying, you fool, I'm laughing!

It was composed for the film. It developed in later films, eventually evolving into Ghidorah's (Godzilla's arch nemesis) theme...

Similarly, the music for when Godzilla attacks Tokyo...

Mothra was the only one of Toho's Big Four whose theme didn't originate in the first film.
