Caught this one on AMC...the script seems wanting, the acting a might stiff, and oh, when the bad guy's bust Murphy out from the hangin', it's rainin' some'in fierce...but..THE SUN'S OUT! Even squirrelier is the fact that all seem to be wearing PLASTIC rain slickers! Now, I'm guessing that ANY plastic items in the 1800's must have been preeeety hard to come by at the local FEED & GRAIN!

As has been pointed out in another thread, the slickers would have been of vulcanised rubber. Googling suggests slightly different dates of origin, but they would have been around for several decades before the era depicted in the film.
