Do we really have to go thru this again? Every movie is brand new to the person viewing it for the first time. And titles of message board threads display prominently on the front page of a movie on IMDB.

And YOU have now just bumped this one to the top again so that anyone who looks up this movie just to see who is in it or what it's about may very well see a plot point expressly designed by the writer as an important surprise ruined for a cheap and stupid joke.

The incident, as depicted in the film, was a misrepresentation. The vehicle did not hit and run the dog: the driver attempted to miss the animal and in the process the occupants of the car were injured and required medical treatment.
