the creature still lives!!

iv just seen this film after hearing a remake of the film was coming out. i was very pleasently supprised. i enjoy such stories as lizzard men and gill men but was slightly worried as this was made in the 50s in black and white will a man in a rubber suit.

the film is excellent! the costume was quite good especially as it was the 50s and the under water work was fantastic, the actor playing the creature in the water really sold it. the acting was good and the lady was beautiful (i can see why the creature didnt want to see her go).

after seeing the film it led me to one question - why after 50 years and massive budgets do films end up been like "the fog" (2006)?

i have high hopes for the remake and pray it live up to the original.

ACtually, they're doing guy in suit over pure CG. The actor that plays the Creature, is the guy that played the shark creature thing in the movie "Creature," among other roles. His names Brain Steele. But yeah , the plot looks like a bad idea from what I've read of it.

I'm watching this movie again now after not having seen it for, I don't know how many, years. I've always been a fan of this film, but I forgot how good it actually was.

I don't have a problem with black and white movies and this one has really nice cinematography. Zwanbc is right, the underwater work is outstanding, both the way it is filmed and Ricou Browning's work in that suit. The suit design is terrific and Mr. Browning really makes it work, allowing you suspend your disbelief.

I love the cast. Everyone mentions Julie Adams, and deservedly so, but ya gotta love Whit Bissell. He was such a great old standby in so many films and tv shows.

I don't feel any special need for this movie to be remade, but it will be interesting to see what they do with it or to it.
