Best Actress, My Ass!!

Grace Kelly's Oscar win as Best Actress in 1954 for "The Country Girl" is a complete miscarriage of justice and a total farce. All Grace did was wear glasses and frumpy clothes and talk in a monotone and for that, she beat out Judy Garland in "A Star is Born" and Dorothy Dandridge in "Carmen Jones"? As if!!

Judy and Grace are both talented and iconic in their own way. Grace is pretty good for the type of characters she plays in her movies. If the oscar was from any of Grace other movies, I would say someone else should have won. Grace acting in Country Girl was very good. She did not do showy performanc because her character was beaten down by her life. At the end she started to show more showy emotion. Not all characters need to be showy. Grace did great in this movie. The Country Girl was Grace best acting by far. Judy did great as well.

My vote would have easily gone to Dorothy Dandridge for Carmen Jones.
Daylight - Second.
It is a well known fact that Grace Kelly slept around with alot of men in the film industry- did they vote for Grace to win the award?
That's - Showbusines- since Adam and Eve was a boy and girl.

And also Grace Kelly for her non-nominated "Rear Window" work, which is now pretty much considered the definitive Kelly performance. No way the Academy was going to acknowledge her glamourous, sexy and funny work in "Window" over the cast-against-type drab housewife in "Girl," though ("Girl" was also a late-year drama geared towards Oscar (just like they do it today), and turned out to be a big hit to boot).

Take it easy, she deserved it.

Kelly is perfectly fine in this. But, Garland's performance in "A Star is Born" is legendary. That is the difference to me.
