Completely irrelevant romance angle....


The romance with Willie and May was so not needed and completely a time filler. Did anyone care about their relationship?

I really did not care about their relationship and I think too much screen time was devoted to it. A shot of them in bed on the morning after would have told us all we needed to know. She wasn't good enough for him and his mother was going to make darn sure he realized it. All the pretty words in the woods got us nowhere and took away from the fascinating happenings on the boat. War pictures don't need love/sex angles. They just don't.
