Also can be called (but may or may not be technically correct) disintegrations, incinerations and vaporizations. I'm sure it's the first color one.

Nawww-check out THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL (Gort the robot's visor ray). Also, see Boris Karloff's demise in THE INVISIBLE RAY. As for color, DR. CYCLOPS has a victim's head burned to a skull with green radiation.
