Why hasn't it been released on blu-ray DVD, yet?

Why hasn't it been released on BLU-RAY, yet?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Perhaps the studio does not believe the effort to clean it up is worth it.

I would love to see it on blue ray with the wires removed.

Probably you're right. ๎€…

I want to see the wires. It makes the movie even more interesting to see the flaws, yet doesn't detract from the entertainment value. (For me, anyway.)

reply

Agreed I would buy this Day 1 on Blu.

If they can do for Forbidden planet; they can do this! Oh, and When Worlds Collide as well.

kenneth peterka,

I agree w/you! ๎€…

I can't believe this iconic movie hasn't been released on Blu-ray! Pal's "The Time Machine" recently had a Blu-ray release, and the movie benefited enormously from it.

Also need When Worlds Collide on Blu-ray.

Agree on all counts, though I recall, it took a long time before they released WOTW on DVD (which was 10 years ago, to capitalize on the Tom Cruise version). WOTW and WORLDS COLLIDE were released by Paramount, which I do not know if Universal holds their video license. THE TIME MACHINE was released by MGM, but released on DVD and blu-ray by Warner Brothers, which now owns a good deal of the MGM classic film library.
