I find myself writing things that are too personal to defend on this board, but I will say, my nerves are at peace now. I can only say this for those who will watch this and that is BEWARE. While the characters and the flow of the movie might not appeal to you, trust me when I tell you, you're in it. I would be shocked to find anyone who is not left weeping at the end, for any number of reasons, but there is someone who will resonate with everyone. Not very many films can state that claim.

Don't be nervous to watch this or any other Ozu film. His are some of the most approachable films you can find.

You had me in the beginning but the second half of that statement is where I personally had a problem. The film was way too slow, which I would be fine with, if it didn't seem so aimless. By the end of it, I didn't care for any of the characters.
