Audrey Hepburn: it's been said before, but...

God, wasn't she hot??

I mean, are there any as charming, lovable actresses nowadays, who can fascinate an audience for decades like Audrey did without having to appear naked?

i loved her too!

If an "actress" has to appear naked to be charming, then she is no actress!

reply

Yep, just like Kate Winslet, Monica Bellucci, etc.

I think Natalie Portman is pretty close.

reply

Maybe. But here was only ONE Audrey Hepburn, God rest her soul.

reply

Yes, yes, very hot. Though I get what you mean... I'm not sure 'hot' is the right term. But anyway, Why did Halle Berry wait till after winning an Oscar to pose in the nude? What a lame, dumb-ass -- if you'll pardon my saying so.

Nah, Portman having the looks doesn't make her anywhere close to being as charming or lovable onscreen as Audrey was.

Well, says you. I think she has plenty of charm and I find her lovable.

reply

Yes pretty hot.

For some reason everyone fixates on her in Breakfast At Tiffanys which left me totally cold. But Audrey Hepburn never looked better than in Roman Holiday imo.

reply

It's not only the looks- it's the doe-eyed innocence and brightness she exudes. The best thing about it is that it's not fake: the elfin-like demeanor was who she really was, and it transferred to the screen.

Today, too many women want to compete as equals to men, meaning they try to be man-like; Hepburn oozed femininity, and, in so doing, became adored by generations.

There's a lesson in there somewhere...

Audrey Hepburn was not only very attractive but was able to express herself in ways that made her truly radiant and classy. There are few if any actors today that have the onscreen presence or charm that either Peck or Hepburn had.

reply

^very true. We have too many butt kicking "independant feminist" one-of-the-guys girls who think acting like guys/hanging out with them instead of other females makes them sexy or cool or whatever. and guys tend to encourage it (mostly just very immature younger guys who want self gratification and to "have fun", not a mature committed relationship).

in fact I think Gregory Peck is like the male Audrey... what she does for class and femininity, he does also for class and masculinity. too many guys nowadays are lazy and gladly let women give them free sex and pay the bills (hey, video games are expensive, so someone's gotta buy 'em) instead of taking their rightful place as gentleanly husbands full of chivalry.

Nobody in the world could have played this role like Hepburn did. She knocked that character out of the park! Same thing in Wait in the Dark! I was holding my breath when she kept lighting those matches.

Is it okay if I do it for mom and not you? 'Cause I really like mom.

Natalie wood imo

Audrey was indeed charming. But why do SO many imdb posters have to put others down in order to praise her? Who cares if other actresses do nudity? What does that have to do with our lovely Audrey?
