I have always said every decent movie was based off an amazing one in the past.
This movie was brilliant, a classic. You cant tell me the writers of Notting Hill did not have this movie in mind. Same story! Although, Roman Holiday told it better of course!
Yes, Roman Holiday was and will always be much better, but I loved Notting Hill as well. Loved, loved, loved the ending of Notting Hill (montage set against "She"), but as much as I wanted these two in Roman Holiday to end up together, it's more realistic that they don't. But I still hold my breath and hold back tears as I see him walking out and she doesn't run after him in the end. Awesome!! Not sure if Notting Hill could have pulled that off successfully.
