I have to say she was perfection in this role. I find her a bit fey and affected in some of her other roles but she was perfect in this movie.

This is definitely the best role/movie of her ingenue period. I think it's one of the few movies that just about everyone could like, regardless of genre or other preferences. Everything about her and the movie works.

Hepburn is pure magic in this film, which, without her, would have been only so-so.

I don't usually like Audrey Hepburn. But even I found her charming in this movie. After her character sobered up, that is.

She wasn't drunk, she'd been given a sedative that took awhile to take effect. I'm not a huge fan either (unlike many others), but she was undeniably the perfect fit for this role.🐭
