I just love B(bad)movies. When a friend told me about this one I had to check it out. Finally after a long search I finally found it, and have to say. Man this ones bad I mean good. 5 stars in the bad rating.

What kind of drugs were the filmakers on? It boggles the imagination to consider what impaired them! I mean who financed this travesty? Who in their right mind would donate a dollar? Oh, well. Exactly! I don't know how people can call "Plan 9" the "best worst" when "Robot Monster" clearly surpasses it in delicious awfullness.
Then again, I haven't seen "Manos:The Hands of Fate" yet :-)
You need to see "Beast of Yucca Flats" with Tor Johnson if you really want to experience the "worst" -- trust me, it makes "Robot Monster" look like Blade Runner...the director's cut...it's that bad.

I saw all (MST3k versions, i still want to stay alive) Coleman Francis movies, only Monster A-Go-Go comes close IMO.
but those movies are only funny if you want to experience the draining of all your life energy and joy to live out of your body

just saw Robot Monster, very funny indeed, but cheese like Puma Man, Future War and Quest Of The Delta Knights is even more hilarious
People who say "Plan 9 from Outer Space" is the worst film and Ed Wood is the worst director never saw it or any other Ed Wood's movie. They just read it somewhere and repeat it stupidly.

They are both turkeys. By the way, neither is on IMDb's Bottom 100. But they are still really bad. Worse than quite a few films on the list.

with all due respect to this movie RoMan has been chasing me in my Nightmares for 40 years. True the movie is Strange at best and MST3K did a good job of making the movie watchable. It doesn't distract from the Terror of RoMan in the dark corners of my Nightmare world. Maybe I shouldn't eat Pizza at 2am and then go to bed.

This is why I can't rate Robot Monster as a truly bad movie.
It's just some kid's dream. Dreams often contain very strange things, sometimes even gorillas wearing diving helmets.
Short Cut, Draw Blood
Actually both RM and P9FOS had much richer ideas in them, and more engaging stories, than 90% over of the tripe that millennials love.
An alternate all serious remake of either could compare to the best Sci-fi, akin to The X Files and lost.
I can only hope Dark Horse (which made the mistake of publishing Fight Club 2 - garbage from flawless book and films the author should've left alone!) makes these.
