Okay, I NEVER throw the word worst around, ever, unless I mean it, for example, I think the latest Superbowl, Pittsburgh vs Seattle was the worst Superbowl ever, and I mean it, and to me, this IS the worst film I have ever seen.
I think this film is the the Mona Lisa of Bad Movies. Many people would give the Worst Ever title to "Plan 9 from Outer Space," but to my mind, 'Plan 9' is Oscar worthy compared to this unbelievably horrendous cienematic supository. How can so many things fail so totally in a single film? Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Can you picture the director and the studio heads, after viewing the final product, smiling and saying, "We've got a winner here!" The studio must be run by someone even more inept than R0-Man. Looking at this train wreck, I wonder what the films the studio *wouldn't relase* must have been like! Yikes!!
Still, I admit to getting a good laugh out of this loathsome piece of flotsum, especially the MST3K version. Whenever you feel like you've messed something up, just look at what these so-called film makers did here, and you'll feel a million times better.
This movie is great! The worst movie I ever saw was the German TV version of Hamlet that had been dumbed to english on MST 3000. I blame that episod for killing the series. I thik MST 3K was getting a little full of themselves at that point and thought they could do any bad movie off topic as long as they were there even if nothing happened in the movie to comment on.
Nope, not the worst. Bad, really bad, but not the worst. The killing off everybody even the kids was cringe-worthy, the storyline laughable to horrible, the acting very bad. But I really have seen worse than this...unfortunately. It does have some laughable elements which saves it from being totally awful. I agree with the above poster who talks about the more boring a movie is the worse it is. Plan 9 is hilariously bad, so its definitely not the worst film ever made either.
Robot Monster is the best worst movie I've ever seen. The only thing Robot Monster lacks is a giant spider in that cave, you will have to check out Cat Women of the Moon (which was also scored by Elmer Bernstein) if you want the spider. The worst Science Fiction movie I ever saw was Galaxy of Terror (absolutely no redeeming element in that movie) just plain boring! At least Robot Monster, Plan 9 and Cat Women of the Moon are campy and over the top. The unintended comedy is what endears them to fans of "so bad it's good" films.
I thought "Titanic" was a lot worse than this film. This movie was short and entertaining in its very badness while "Titanic" was way too long and duller than dishwater.
"We're all part Shatner/And part James Dean/Part Warren Oates/And Steven McQueen"
Yes, I do agree with you. I have always thought that Plan 9 From Outer Space was the worst of all time, but that was before I saw Robot Monster. Now I had heard about Robot Monster many times throughout my life, but I would always say to myself "no movie could could never come to Plan Nine. It's just not possible)!!!
But, after seeing RB, I have to be honest to myself and admit to myself and my fellow bad science fiction movie bluffs: Robot Monster is a lot, lot, LOT Worse!!!
