The doctor

I saw this movie last night on TBN, and as usual, they run no credits at the end. I can't remember the doctor's name, so I can't find the actor's name in the list of credits on imdb. Can anybody help? He is SO familiar.

"Qui conduisait la voiture?"

reply

The hawk-nosed physician was Thomas B. Henry, a character actor who usually played military types in 50s science fiction movies. His warmest and lengthiest role was in the Harryhausen film 20 Million Miles to Earth where he befriends a native Italian lad. At least I think this is the guy you're talking about.

reply

Correct. I remember him from the sci-fi TV series "Rocky Jones, Space Ranger" in 1954 and he indeed played the physician in "The Robe".

reply

Yeah, he was all over the place in Fifties sci fi - Earth vs. the Flying Saucers, The Beginning of the End, and others...

reply

He stepped in at the last minute for Robert Young, who wanted to play the doctor, Marcus Welbius, but his well-known Sanka addiction kept him from getting the part.
