TCM version full of white specks

TCM aired The Robe on Easter Sunday. This is my favorite film. It started in excellent condition but when it moved to Palestine, white dirt specks were all-over the film, during the Crucifixion and especially when Demetrius meets Judas. The color was excellent but the endless dirt spots ruined my enjoyment. Are these dirt specks also on the Blu-Ray or DVD version? I will complain to TCM. Strangely, the sequel, Demetrius & The Gladiators, was in pristine condition.

I have been informed by a movie industry expert that the deplorable condition of The Robe shown on TCM Easter Sunday was not the fault of TCM but of Fox; the color negatives were not stored properly. If so, how come responders say their current Blu-Ray version had no dirt spots and was perfect? Why didn't TCM use that version? Didn't TCM preview the film before airing? It is true that The Robe was never properly stored. Years ago, the film was aired on a local station and it was shown in green hues; even the robe itself appeared green; I flipped the channel!
