Only Caligula still alive

Sadly, with the passing of Jean Simmons last week, the only cast member still alive is Jay Robinson, who played Caligula. He survived a tumultuous life and still does film and TV work. This was one of my favorite films of all time. It was a simple life story that got entangled with Rome's lust for power.

I should have said that Jay Robinson is the only major cast member who still survives. Glad to hear that St. John is still alive. She played Miriam. Great film!

I wrote to Jay Robinson way back. I complimented him on his performance and how I think he was the best Caligula. He never wrote back.
