I did a marathon with The Robe

I also did it with The Green Mile, Risen, The Robe, and The passion of The Christ titled When Miracle Workers Are Wrongfully Executed. You guys can check it out on my blog.

The Robe is a great movie about redemption and witnessing of miracles told from the Roman perspective. The story feels like the 2016 Biblical drama Risen, I feel like that movie took inspiration from this film.

I felt that way about "The Robe" and "Risen" also.
I first saw "The Robe" in third grade in Catholic school. Our nuns took us to the theater to see it. We had been studying the early Christian martyrs. It was the first movie that made me cry. The book is worth reading, too. It fleshes out the characters more than a movie can.
"The Passion of the Christ" is hard to watch, but the real suffering was probably even worse. I try to make watching it a part of Holy Week devotions.
The Green Mile" is a spiritual movie; John Coffey is a Christ figure. Great choices for a marathon!
I hope you get a chance to see "The Young Messiah", based partly on the non-canonical Infancy Gospels. We know very little about the childhood of Jesus. This film imagines it in a way that is credible.

I could be a morning person if morning happened at noon.
