How did the 'Marilyn Monroe as Tinkerbell' myth start?
I'm sorry if someone made a similar post, but I wanted some answers.
I made a similar post on the Marilyn Monroe board, but got no real response. I'll be posting this on similar boards to see if I get more answers.
According to this interview with Margaret Kerry (http://www.dvdizzy.com/margaretkerry-interview.html), she mentions that she knew Marilyn, and believes that Marilyn couldn't have done it because the animators wanted a dance-like quality for Tink, which Marilyn didn't have.
I don't know. I think Marilyn couldn't have done it because although she was in several films at this point, the roles were small, and weren't big enough to attract attention, and the film in which Marilyn's popularity exploded (GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES) was released in the same year as PETER PAN (just my opinion, feel free to disagree).
Thanks!
