Captain Hook's loss of his hand?

I wonder if Captain Hook's lose of his left hand was due to the crocodile.

No. Peter plainly states in the scene where he greets the mermaids: "Wanna hear about the time I cut off Hook's hand and fed/threw it to the crocodile."
Real nice "hero" - NOT! It changes things when you look at Hook as a maimed amputee, rather than just your cliche' villain.

As someone other than me eloquently put it:

"That no good jerk peter Pan lopped it off and fed it to damn ticking crocodile"

I'd like to meet that person.... nice to know I'm not the only one who despises Peter Pan (the character) only a little less than Hook does.

Not to mention this quote from later in the movie:

SMEE: Oh, dear, dear, dear, Captain Hook. Shooting a man in the middle of his cadenza? That ain't good form, you know.
HOOK: "Good form," Mr. Smee? BLAST good form! [waves his hook in front of Smee] Did Pan show good form when he did this to me?
