Mr. Darling = Former Lost Boy?

At the end of the movie when The Darlings see the pirate ship in the sky he says “You know, I have the strangest feeling I've seen that ship before... a long time ago, when I was very young.”

Do you think he might have been a Lost Boy when he was a kid? I can't think of a better explanation than that, what do you think?

One thing J.M. Barrie stresses in the book is that all children encounter Peter Pan when they're quite young, it's just that the more we try to grow up, the sooner we forget him.
