I'm so sorry, but I had to take care of some things while watching this movie, and I couldn't really catch... had they known eachother earlier, or was it just a philosophical comment when Gable said that maybe he had not married yet because of Kelly...?

No they didn't know each others already.. I just thought that Vic meant that he had never found the right girl for him, and Linda might be the reason. It's one of those soulmate things 8D
