It had been a while since I had seen this movie, but I had completely forgotten that Marlon spoke with a beautiful accent in this movie. Finally a movie where he is beautiful and his voice is beautiful as well!
shareI don't think he often did. But not only did he speak clearly, but the emphasis and phrasing was very memorable. He made the oration very clear, not just because he pronounced the words clearly.
shareHe was brilliant - but in most of his well known films he's playing common people or has cotton wool in his mouth... that's why he never seemed to speak clearly. But I agree he sounded great in this! He was a great actor.

absolutely correct. brando tortured us for years with various accented affectations right up to the Godfather. most overrated actor ever.
