No, Bela Lugosi played the a lab assistant named Ygor in the 1939 film "Son of Frankenstein." Dwight Frye played an Igor-archetype character named Fritz in the Universal's first Frankenstein film (1931).

Yes. This was one of Charles Bronson's earliest films, before he changed his name to Charles Bronson.
