There's a quote from the movie that I really love, but can't seem to remember, it's when Vincent Price's character is talking to his investor and he says something about "They want horror, I'll give them horror." Does anyone know the entire thing he says there?

reply

"I'm going to give the people what they want: sensation, horror, shock. Send them out in the streets to tell their friends how wonderful it is to be scared to death."

reply

'Smelling salts ladies? Help yourself.'

(Mathew Burke)How'd you like to split $25,000 with me.
(professor Jarrod) And you call me crazy?

reply

( Sue Allen on discovering Cathy's corpse beneath the wax): Cathy! I knew it!
( Professor Jarrod, who has silently crept up behind her): You shouldn't have done that, my dear.

And when he crossed the bridge, the phantoms came to meet him

That smelling salts quote earlier in the thread is my favorite line too. Vincent Price's drawling delivery is just right. It makes me smile.

Lt Tom Brennan holding up the wax head of Igor,

"By the time this guy
gets out of Sing Sing...
this head will grow a long beard."

reply

[Sue Allen is looking at a wax likeness of herself] it's sort of a shock to see your head detatched that way.

I like the bit where the guy with the ping-pong bat looks at the camera and starts talking to the audience. I can’t remember exactly what he says now. Something like “Oh you there with the popcorn, watch out I almost hit you”. Something like that.
This movie must have been quite an experience to see on the big screen in 3D when it first came out.

reply

I think it's something like "oh look theres someone with a bag of popcorn , close your mouth it's the bag I'm aiming at not your tonsils."

He says 'Ill give the people what they want, shock, horror, have them run into the streets and tell their friends how good it is to be scared to death''

Something like that.

reply

probably when he's talking about Charlotte Cordey murdering the guy in the bath.
The customer (woman) says 'shocking, what a dreadful thing to do' and Jarrod replies ' Yes wasnt it, the poor man was dreadfully embarrassed'
hahahhahaha typical Vincent price.
