horse steps on a roster.

in one scene the indian guy comes to talk to the window.
Another guy comes running up and his horse steps right on a roster!
Most likely breaking bones. I guess they cant say no animals were hurt in the making of this film, heck they did not even care enough to cut the footage from the film.

Thanks for the warning, k-man. Whenever I'm interested in seeing a pre-1980s western I always have to check first if there are scenes of actual animal killings, horse trippings, dog beatings and such. The American Humane website has a decent database of major USA films, but older films, foreign films & indies aren't usually on there.

Don't think for a minute that just b\c the AHA gives a movie it's seal of approval that it means no animals were harmed\mistreated. In fact, many times the AHA doesn't even have a monitor on filming locations. If you want an eye-opening report read The Hollywood Reporter expose someting (search their site). You won't look at them the same way I can assure you. As usual it's all about the $$$$ they recieve from their providing their seal of approval.

Back in those days the twisted its neck, plucked it, and put it in a stew pot.

Nowadays they cry for their mommies, quit their job, and go sit in some hippy circle talking about how everything is wrong.

Times have changed. Growing up and living on a farm I've ate plenty of chickens too stupid to get out from under a hoof.
