were these "cat women" part of a group or troupe ? the credits in the beginning of the movie list "the hollywood cover girls" as cast members.

Possibly. It's been ages since I saw this film on Creature Features, but I do recall there being somekind of ensemble connection between the girls and one of the major studios.

I think they were just a loose group of assorted models and starlets thrown together and advertised as "The Hollywood Cover Girls" for this movie.
