One of the reviewers mistakenly states the actor Dick Wesson, who plays the part of Francis Fryer in Calamity Jane, committed suicide.

This is incorrect. Wesson died of a heart attack in 1996.

The Dick Wesson (no relation) that he is confused with was a movie and television announcer who committed suicide in 1979.

I really enjoyed his performance in this movie. His dance-hall song in drag was hilarious! I wish it lasted longer.

I'm going to make a point to catch him in "Desert Song" next time it comes on.
