The double wedding
If this was real life, i'd definitely say, out of the two couples - Bill and Calam would last, compared with Danny and Katie.
At the double wedding at the end of the film, Calam all beaming with happiness, being Mrs Hickcock - sings about her secret true love, whilst Katie's just showing off her "Golden nugget" to the female guests.
She came off as shallow when she did that.
Also, I don't see genuine love between Danny and Katie.
Danny looked like he would've made a move on any attractive girl with a pulse, who arrived in Deadwood. It just so happened to be Katie.
If the real Adelaide Adams showed up, he would've been all over her too!
Likewise, with Katie, Danny was just a convenient, eligible, attractive guy living in Deadwood. It was either a choice between him, the
Cowboys, Indians, Francis Fryer or Rattlesnake!
