Gloria Grahame stole the movie
She had the best lines, easily the best performance in the movie. Every scene she was in she owned.
If my thought-dreams could be seen, they'd probably put my head in a guillotine.

I agree, loved her, and loved the movie.
I can't imagine Marilyn Monroe in this role (originally set to be cast). Gloria is just too cute when she does her little "puppet" skip out of the room!!
shareHave you watched Monroe in her first major role in The Asphalt Jungle (1950)? I am certain she could have given a memorable performance here just as Grahame has.
__________
Last movie watched: The Lost Weekend (9/10)
Hard to believe. Monroe was a film star not a good actor in the conventional sense.
Nothing I've seen from her makes me think she could have pulled this off so well (mind you I haven't seen The Asphalt Jungle).
She has a unique quality, extremely watchable.
"Did you make coffee...? Make it!"--Cheyenne.
Loved her character in this... flaws and all.
*Spoilers*
Physically went "Awe!" :/ when her character got shot at the end.
~I love the rhythm it is my methoood!~
Well she shot someone to death so she had to be punished by being shot to death (with her head resting in that beautiful full length mink).
Kisskiss, Bangbang
I would've preferred having her go to jail for a (very) short time with the promise of a brighter future. I got *beep* tired of seeing all the women tortured and/or killed off. Although Brando being pulled out of a burning car with nary a black mark on her was pretty stupid for such a "gritty" movie, lol.
shareAgreed, she was outstanding in every scene she was in.
shareAGREED
shareno wonder her name is the only top-image one on the current (2015) poster that imdb uses!
