Susan wanted Hedy Lamarr
Hedy Lamarr was originally chosen for the part that Ave Gardner got and Susan was furious with the studio. She and Hedy were great pals and loved to do a picture together, when Hedy demanded too much money, the studio went for Ava. Smart Cookie, that Hedy....knowing the movie would be a thud by the script, she asked for an amount that she knew the studio would balk and that is how she got out of this stinker.
