There was no Hugo, in the real story. That's one reason Lucia didn't care much for this film. It could have been more faithful to the actual story.

shareOf course! I'm quite certain that adding Gilbert Roland to the film helped Warner Brothers pay the bills and that helped in getting the film made. I watch this film whenever it is on. I am not a Catholic and in all honesty I have to admit that if this film had not been made, I would probably not know the story at all.
