odd way lucia originally described the lady

I found a link with the drawing..scroll about half way down http://blog.spiritualparadigm.org/consciousness/the-first-ufo-sighting-of-the-20th-century/

below is from the original description

* She measured approximately 1.10 meters (3 1/2 feet) tall

* She had all black eyes
* She made no facial movements
* She spoke without moving her lips

a cape,
quilted garment gold cord running through all of them
short narrow skirt

she looked to be 12 to 15 years old
she was holding a crystal ball

she wore something on her head (hair and ears not visible)but gold loop earrings could be seen

lucia said the lady never identified herself

in fatima they used the same word for sky and heaven

when lucia asked the lady where she was from, she merely pointed to the sky.

the "miracle" was observed up to 19 kilometers (11 miles) away.

reply

I doubt Lucia would have said that

here is a QUOTE

The drawing was made in the presence of and under instruction of Lucia herself after the first apparition. This pic (see first post) is a facsimile of the original newspaper page and appeared in print 15 days after the FIRST apparition. So, it was well before any major church involvement and also months before the day of the 'miracle of the sun'.

As far as I know, she did say something like that, although the detail about the all-black eyes is new to me. I wonder if that is from the original sessions with the doctor who questioned her and her cousins. There's a lot of detail that gets left out of the story when it is told with hagiography in mind. This is one reason I always say there was more going on in that field than the holy accounts give credit for. William Walsh talks about it a little and says these kinds of details always turn up, there are always a few slight discrepancies in these accounts.

However, there is also a guy who's been going around for decades trying to discredit Fatima and I wouldn't put it past him to make things up. I will remember his name and edit this when I do.

You've got me?! Who's got you?!

I actually read about this "quote" years ago on Wikipedia, and you know how "accurate" Wikipedia is

I got the info from the very well researched book "heavenly lights" the researchers are from portugal and got to look at the ORIGINAL records.

Yes, that - part of a 3 volume set - is a wonderful book. It explains Fatima in parnanormal rather than religious terms ... which is a faithful depiction of the events before the Church messed around with the data.

Oh man, I have got to see that!!!

Yes, "She" was very much a foreign, non-human being, of an order beyond what we term "the Natural", as the book trilogy explains. Not to mention all the attending phenomena, both during and before the great events of October 13th - the incident started with the appearance of a "headless radiant angel" who later materialized into full-body form, who gave the kids Communion; finally the "Lady" appeared and told Lucia to meet Her on the 13th day of consecutive months; on those dates, even when Lucia was not present, paranormal events occurred, such as balls of light rolling through the clouds, an odd sound "like the buzzing of a bee", falls of phantom "petals", etc. I do not think that the events represent the Catholic Mary, but I do believe they were real, and point to the intersection of some other realm with earthly reality...
