I once read somewhere that Edna Purviance has a cameo role in this movie but I couldn't see her, does any on know where she appears?

Edna Purviance is the woman waiting in the managers office, where Chaplin was waiting for getting a role.

Edna Purviance was a fine actress, but Chaplin had a stranglehold over her. For nearly a decade, from 1915-1923, she had the female lead in nearly all his films. She never acted in films made by anyone else. But Edna and Charlie had a falling out, and it's my guess it sprang from romantic jealousy on his part. But Purviance was only six years younger than Chaplin, so she was way too old for him.
Despite their personal estrangement, Chaplin kept Edna Purviance on his payroll for life. It was an extravangant gesture on his part, and perhaps a bit of a mea culpa. Who knows?
