Sterling Hayden's character in Kubrick's "The Killing" seems to be more of an inspiration for the heist scene in "The Dark Knight" (visually, at least).

I thought the initial hold up sequence looked very familiar -- see Armored Car Robbery http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0042206/?ref_=nv_sr_2 from two years earlier.

The Place Beyond the Pines seems to be inspired by it as well.

I did read somewhere - I don't recall where - that the heist in The Drak Knight was indeed inspired by Kansas City Confidential.
