Excellent Moviemaking

I don't enjoy westerns as a rule, but High Noon is a gem.

-Great, simple story
-Gary Cooper was wonderful
-The lead-up to the climactic scene was artfully executed both visually and musically
-I felt real investment and excitement. Even upon watching the movie for a third time I was on the edge of my seat.

I finished watching this for the second time just a few minutes ago as I had not seen it for maybe 11 or 12 years and it was just as great as I remembered it. I'm also not a massive Western fanatic but this is probably my favourite one. It even surpasses The Good, the Bad and the Ugly for me.
