I rarely watch the Today show, but came across it today when they were outside and their interaction seemed quite awkward.

If you have a Facebook Page, You should like/become fan of the Today Show page as there are like 20 posts Today Show Discussion board about Ann, Matt and Ann Chemistry, and the Group as a whole. A lot of peoples seem to be saying the same thing: No Chemistry, Nobody seems to be having fun any more. And everybody act like they don't want5 to be on the show any more. You should if you have time swing over and read all the posts about The today Show new team. One of them lasted like 7 pages.

They not only need to fire Ann Curry, but they need to do it right on live TV.

reply

Honestly, I don't see what's the big deal. Ann Curry in my opinion is doing a great job. I enjoy her a lot more than Meredith. I don't care to see fun and games when watching the news. If I wanted to see that I would watch Jon Stewart. I'll admit Matt and Ann aren't Bryant Gumbel and Jane Pauley, but I enjoy them. And at least Ann is there most of the time, Meredith would come in a few days then you won't see her for a number of days.

Matt and Meredith came across as two people who truly liked each other. I don't have that same impression with Matt and Ann. It's business-like at best. I think that's the reason Ann wasn't promoted the first time when Katie moved to CBS. The producers knew at the time that there was something missing. This time Ann was promoted because the producers probably thought she'd bolt if she didn't get the job and losing two people at once would've been too much. By the way, She is a terrible interviewer, stumbling with her questions, more concerned with getting her next question in without truly listening the the answer, adding little editorials disguised as questions, etc. NBC, BRING BACK MEREDITH!

reply

-NBC, BRING BACK MEREDITH!

Hell no. I was so happy when she left. I got so sick of Meredith's sarcasm with specific people she interviewed or even talked to on the Plaza. She would often say out of line questions to the point where Al once said to her, Why would you ask someone that on air.

Ann, keep doing your thing, girl! Lol You have one fan out there.

It doesn't matter what you think of Ann. The fact is the chemistry that Matt and Meredith had is not there with Matt and Ann.

reply

I care more for the news than who has the better chemistry.

Actually the chemistry does kind of effect how thy do the news in a way! Like if another event like 9/11(Ley hope not!) Happens again How they react and interact together really effect how they are giving the news and the timing,. Like Katie and Matt, They had better chemistry and and it showed on 9/11 by the timing and how they interacted and reacted together. The Chemistry between the anchors is very important especially in Morning TV! If they don't have chemistry, viewers will leave to another morning show where the Anchors do have chemistry,. The Chemistry between the anchors and the host plays a Major role in how they do the news. Matt and Ann are lacking the Chemistry and it's affecting how the news is done and the timing. Lots of peoples watch the Morning shows based on the chemistry and the anchors personalities more then the news ! I thought you already knew that.

I knew that, however you have so many people complaining about chemistry. It is important, but look at it this way, if you keep complaining about the chemistry, then watch another network in the morning. I will go along with this chemistry thing with everyone, but I'm not into this fun and game type stuff people seem to like all the time on the news. I may be in the majority here, but I still like the current "Today" cast. I mean it's not as it used to be from when I watched the show when I was a young boy, however it is still the number 1 morning news show, so they must be doing something right, right?

As for non chemistry on a morning news show, watch "The Early Show" anchors.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Ann, I always have been a fan of her for years and watch her on Dateline.. I just like her better where she was before as a Newsreader. that all. And I like and enjoy all the fun and entertainment Stories the Show provides. I like that the Anchors do things with each other(Like Al teaching Savannah cooking)I don't want my Morning to be depressing. I need some fun, Laughter and entrainment in the morning, Especailly in this Day in age.

I do agree, sometimes you need it, but not all the times. That's one of the reasons I gave up on another morning news show I gave on a morning news show some years back. They were acting like clowns on that show. The fun stuff like cooking, I don't mind that at all. I don't watch "Today" in it's fullest, but one thing I remember is they used to do years back before going off is engage in conversation just before going off that was back when the show was 2 hours, I think 3. I was young then, but I still remember it. I don't think they don that as much now.

You hit the nail on the head. Matt and Ann have a cordial relationship, nothing more. And I agree - Ann only got the job because they didn't want to lose her and Meredith at once.

Unfortunately, Meredith won't return. She gave an interview recently that said she left because the hours of the show (going to bed early, getting up early) interfered with her time with her husband and her friends.
