Real reason why Ann Curry fired revealed by Pesident of NBC News

The president of NBC News had some blunt words about Ann Curry's tenure on "Today" in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published late Friday night.

Capus candidly told THR that he thought Curry had not been right for the job in many respects. He said he agreed with interviewer Marisa Guthrie that Curry had faltered in the cooking segments, movie star interviews and fluffy features that make up a large portion of "Today."

“We gave her a year to prove herself, and ultimately we came to the conclusion that she had played at the highest level she could," he said. "When you’re in the major leagues of our profession, you’ve got to continue to be at peak performance in order to stay there."

Yes, thats right they fired her for her lack of interest in cooking segments and celebrity interviews(Interviews with reality stars mind you)

I'm not sure if this is a coverup for the other news story about Matt Lauer being the reason she left but...

This says more about the NBC suits than Ann. I thought Ann wasn't right for the Co-host job from the beginning. She was a newsreader and nothing more. “We gave her a year to prove herself". They would have been better off getting a real co-host with experience instead of treating Ann the way they did and making the network look foolish.
