Does he ever have any days off?..He was on the weekend Today show this morning, did the NBC evening news and will be back tomorrow morning on the weekend Today show..And doesn't he do news on MSNBC during the week?.What a schedule..
shareLester Holt is, "The Hardest Working Man In News". He does a whole lot. I was wondering also does he get any days off. I saw him once do "Today" for a few days during the week, He was a fill in for Matt Lauer, then the weekend edition, then he was doing "The Nightly News". Also, that is a long break in between. "Weekend Today" goes off at 9:00 am, and then he does the "Nightly News" which is done live at 6:30 pm, it's not even pre-recorded!
shareHe IS the go-to guy on the show. After the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, they announced that he's on his way there. I guess he'll be on tomorrow as he wasn't on this morning's show. I like Lester and think he does a good job but, boy do they work him to death. I'll be shocked when I hear he's gotten a few days off.

I think Lester Holt is a great news man. I hope to have a career like his after college. I saw him at the "Today Show". Unfortunately I didn't get to talk to him, but was pretty darn close to him. I would of told him how excellent I think he is at the news. Also take a break! lol
shareHe seems so much more comfortable doing "real" news stories other than the fluff they give him on the weekend show. That fluff stuff seems fine for Amy Robach and Jenna Wolfe as, personally, I don't consider them serious journalists.
shareAmy Robach and especially Jenna Wolfe are interviewers, not really journalist. Lester Holt is a real journalist, because he cover big news stories, and presents the Weekend Edition of the Nighty News. He can handle hard news and B.S. I would like to see them do that. I watch Weekend Today, but Lester is the only one who is making it tolorable.

Amy Robach used to be an anchor on the morning news in D.C. and yeah, I agree, she's more of an interviewer vs. a journalist..And there are a LOT of "interviewers" on the news who want to be taken seriously as journalists..NOT..
shareDefinitely. Also, most of the people you see giving interviews or claim to be journalist, background is not in Journalism or Broadcasting. That goes to show that you don't need a degree in that area. I know that Amy Robach has a degree in that field, but may be the producers want her for just interviewing.

I can't stand Jenna and that's one reason. She threw Lester under the bus one morning when a cue was missed. Not only was it completely unprofessional, it was mean. I think she's jealous of him and she should be.

I know, I mentioned that before. I guess she's pimping herself to move from weekends to weekdays. If she ever moves to weekdays then I'm moving to CBS permanently. She doesn't have chemistry with anyone, and she can be rude to Lester.

I don't know why Lester continues to do the weekend show..He's on MSNBC, fills in for the NBC Evening news and will be doing I think Dateline..The chemistry between him and Amy and him and Jenna's just not there..Lester, give it up!!..Let NBC find someone who wants to do all that fluff on the weekend..You deserve better.
shareLester is clearly 6pm NBC newtwork news material. I would've hired him at CBS over Katie Couric any day. He should not be wasting his time on morning TV. Great voice. Commanding presence.

Lester is great. He makes being a morning show host cool and that is usually considered a fluff and cheesy position especially for a hard news journalist like himself. That guy is the only one who makes it cool and swave to be a newsman. Personally I think he is wasting his talents on just being a weekend news guy and doing Weekend Today.
Weekend Today is not as good as it was a couple of years ago. Erica Hill is annoying.
Lester should consider going to a more serious news organization like CBS. NBC is not the same news network. CBS network takes journalism seriously. CBS should be trying to recurit Lester, because he fits into their objective.
