I came across this picture on the CBS website. pic 1 of 13

If you look at the image properties, they identify the man in the left front as Larry Gates, whom played H.B. Lewis. But the photo was taken in 1977 and Gates joined the cast in 1983. Either the picture date is wrong, or Gates was on the show earlier, or it isn't Gates.

Any ideas?

Back in the 70s Gates was on the show as District Attorney Ira Newton. He replaced the original actor, Sorrell Booke.

...and Sorrell was Boss Hogg on CBS' DUKES OF HAZZARD ! Wow.
