The 3 Dinahs

I think the 1st two actresses names were Jennifer Gatti, and Paige Turco. I recall Paige later played Dixie's younger sis on AMC. Of the 3 performers which one was your fave.

There were actually 4: Jennifer Gatti ('86-'87), Paige Turco ('87-'89), Wendy Moniz ('95-'99), and Gina Tognoni ('04-'09). I liked all the actresses, but I think my fave is Wendy Moniz.

Yeah that was when Dinah starting going psycho!

reply

Yeah. I hated when the writers did that to her, Wendy Moniz did a fabulous job playing her during that time frame. Thankfully when Gina took over the role, they wrote her a little better.

Yeah and it's like they did it just so Hart and Cassie can be together. I didn't like the Cassie character in the first place but then they wrote Dinah in a corner for her! Ugh! This show seemed to do this a lot to female characters during that time period: Make other female characters look bad so others would look better. They also turned Julie and Annie psycho as well. Ironically all of this went on around the same time period like right behind the other. I still didn't see the point of turning Julie into a fatally attracted idiot!

I remember when former good girl Julie started to become slutty when Dylan dumped her at their wedding when Bridget exposed her tryst the night before with ex-bf Hart. Then she falsely accused a mugger of trying to rape her and tried to seduce Frank. Annie was kinda trampy considering the way she treated nice guy Rick. But I think she really loved Josh. I think Alan was the only one that was nice to her when she went wacky. I read they slept together, I didn't know that. I thought Dinah was so tacky to hit on Matt when she knew her mother was involved with him.

ITA, EmilyTheDramaQueen! I had that same problem with the show and that's why I stopped watching. Instead of moving Dinah on to Vanessa's doctor they made her go crazy over that loser Hart! I read that Frank Grillo(Hart) didn't like the story.

Wendy Moniz then Gina, are my picks

Wendy Moniz was my favorite Dinah. Have a thing for bad girls.

I didn't care much for Gina Tognoni's portrayal.

Of all of them, Gina Tognoni's Dinah was my favorite.

Just remember, life without me would be even more unbearable!

This is going way back for me, age showing lol But wasn't Dinah in a wheel chair at some point? or had some kind of handicap? But that was when she was younger. She was Ross' daughter right? Can't remember who was her mom either... darn! and that was my most favorite soap!

Memory, where have you gone? lol

I believe you're thinking of Samantha Marler, Dinah's cousin and Ross' niece. She was the daughter of Ross' brother Justin and Jackie (who was killed in a plane crash). She was in a wheelchair because, at the time, she was dating Dylan Lewis and they were both in the car with Reva before she drove off the bridge. They jumped out in time. Dylan wasn't hurt but Sam (her jumping wasn't shown onscreen) was injured and ended up in a wheelchair for several months until she had surgery. Dinah, on the other hand, was the daughter of Ross and Vanessa. She was never in a wheelchair, but when Vanessa was in a coma after giving birth to Maureen, she was guided through, by the spirit of the previously deceased Maureen Reardon Bauer, to see what other people's lives would be like without her. In one of those sequences, she saw Dinah in a wheelchair, from a supposed car accident, about to marry Matt. That also could've been what you were thinking of.
