Did Dr. Rick ever find happiness when the show ended?

It seems the nice doc always failed at marriage. I liked his marriage to the hearing impaired Abigail who was Amish. But eventually like all good soap marriages, it came to an end. Who was the Black lady he was involved with for awhile? That wasn’t Alan’s niece was it? I don’t recall if they were married or not. I know his gf and Beth often had disagreements. I remember he and Beth were involved for awhile, but did he ever get involved with Mindy? I’m surprised he never slept with India or Olivia, he and Phillip seemed to like sharing women.

He did, indeed, and he ended up with Mindy. In the last episode, Phillip and Beth remarried and it was mentioned that the next day, he and Mindy were going to marry. The black woman he was involved with was named Mel Boudreaux. No relation to Alan. Her family came on the show in the early 00's. I liked his marriage to Abigail, but I'm really glad of how things ended for him and Phillip both.

Thanks, eventually I will have to watch some GL on Youtube. I grew up with that soap and miss it. My late elders were fans since the days of radio. I was born in the late 60's. I'm glad Rick found happiness with Mindy, I knew they had been close friends for years. Mindy has faced her share of broken marriages and heartbreak as well. What exactly caused Rick's marriage to Abigial to end. I know she went to Washington D.C. to work with the hearing impaired I believe. NTM, why did he and Mel break up. I always thought that was tacky of him to have a fling with Blake. Considering Ross was a LT family friend. I think his nutty ex-wife that was obsessed with Josh was named Annie.

I was so happy that Rick and Mindy ended up with each other. I also really liked Rick with Abby, and I also liked Mindy with Nick. As far as how Rick and Abby's marriage ended, it all had to do with a setup by Claire Ramsey. She gave Abby the job in DC, but Abby wouldn't go at first. Then she made it look like she was sleeping with Rick in front of Abby. Rick told Abby that it wasn't what it looked like, and Abby believed him, but decided to take the job anyway. I don't really know why he and Mel broke up, but I think it had something to do with Beth. I didn't like the storyline where he had the fling with Blake and it was believed that he fathered one of her twins. Thankfully they nixed that s/l years later and made Ross the father of both.

In the last few years of the show, Rick and Beth were having an affair while she was married to Alan. Mel found out. Rick and Mel's marriage was shaky enough. That pushed off the cliff.

Rick sure did like sleeping with the same women his buddy Phillip did.

Back in the 80s Rick and Mindy were a couple but she ended up pregnant with Philips baby-which she eventually lost. I was happy with how things ended between Phillip and Beth, and Rick and Mindy. They were a group of great friends for awhile in the 80s.
