Should they at least be in the planning stages at this point?

Still one of the best sit-coms of all time!

You can find dvd's of the tv show here. It seems to be all of them but I'm not sure.

The season sets of Abbott & Costello are of their TV show from the early 1950s. They don't contain their films. A&C Meet The Keystone Cops, ...Meet Frankenstein, etc are contained on the DVD sets "Best of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello" - four different volumes. Each volume contains eight films (Volume 4 has six films). It's an excellent deal - Amazon has each set at less than $20, cheaper yet when two volumes are purchased at once. I've just gotten Volume One today - excellent quality and I've watched three of the films in one sitting already....no matter that I've seen each movie over several dozen times, easily, over the years.
