No better version

By far, there has been no better version. Almost a perfect movie.

I agree. We watch this every Christmas Eve. Alastair Sim's acting is amazing in this!

It's one of the best, if not the best, adaptation. I liked how they expanded on Scrooge's backstory. However, I sure wished I had watched a better print.

What did you watch? For years I liked the film but couldn't really fully appreciate it because whether it was the black and white version or the colour version (which just looks bad anyway because of the bright colours they used for the clothes) the print was really poor.

Finally seeing it on blu ray made me able to fully enjoy it properly.

I watched it on Plex (a streaming service). The print looked unrestored and lacked in vibrancy and contrast when it comes to black-and-white photography.

I like it but prefer the George C. Scott version which I grew up on. I didn't like all the extra things added in. Like Scrooge and Marley screwing over their former employer. Or Scrooge evicting a poor person when Belle breaks up with him.
