Alastair Sim was great as Scrooge!

He was better than great. He showed amazing nuance in every scene. Even the very slight smirk when the two gentleman from the charity were explaining the need for helping the poor is a revelation.

His post-spirit actions as a reformed man are fabulous. He truly looks like a man with a changed heart.

Sim was to Scrooge as Connery was to Bond--born to play the role.
