Something I couldn't understand...

I can't figure how George thought he could just pull himself out of the lake, walk back to the lodge and act like nothing had happened! After all, he'd been seen by the delivery guy, the boat rental guy and the two camping kids. Even if Alice hadn't had her work ID in her purse, someone would've missed her. Was it that he was so amoral that he didn't give a darn what had occurred, or was he so stupid that he thought her body wouldn't be found? I didn't even have the sense that he'd tried to resecue her, knowing that she couldn't swim and he was a strong swimmer.

"May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?"

I think he thought that she would never be found... When Angela told him the story of the two boys that have drowned a year ago or so, she said that one of the bodies was never recovered...

But besides that... I think that he was not just dumb, I think he was thoughtless or even selfish by not thinking about Alice's friends, family...

But Alice had no friends. She kept to herself from the start. She said her family was large and that's why she left them and got a job.

And it is based on a true story so I am guessing that is why that happened
