Sorry, but I think they should have cast some blonde, blue-eyed hunk to play the poor Dutchman...

Wrong to the max. Nobody did intense and brooding like James Mason. Nobody.

Many Dutch people are neither blonde nor blue-eyed. And if Mason wasn't a hunk, nobody ever was.
