Remember how she says she's going to follow the doctor's advice and not let the nurses take the baby after it's born and carry him around in a sling and all that? But that never happens. Why make such a big deal of it and not even follow through?

I think because by the time you come home with your baby, you're more relaxed and ready to do the things that YOU feel most comfortable with. As nervous as you are, there are plenty of people helping or ready to help. You can take the time to develop your own style taking care of the baby.
