Why do I keep hearing rumours Albert Einstein starring in this film?

Who started it? Where did it come from? I've watched this movie several times and I know he's not in there. I even heard this on TV once ages ago on late night TV. I believe it was City TV's Mark Daily who said as he was introducing the movie "I heard Einstein is supposed to be in this movie"

Sam Gaffe sort of plays an Einstein-like professor but he could hardly be mistaken as a look-a-like for Einstein.

Does anyone know how this rumour started?

I think there is some resemblance with the frizzy hair. Jaffe's character was supposed to be that of a world renowned scientist. Albert Einstein was probably the world's most renowned scientist in 1951, the year the movie was made. That is probably the origin or the rumors.

People generally don't take the time to verify rumors and just repeat them as if they were true.

Sam Jaffe was indeed an Einstein lookalike -- and probably the reason he was chosen.

who cares how it started… really, does that matter?
